PUMA and Palermo FC unveil the new Third Kit which will be worn by the men’s, women’s and youth teams in the 2024/25 football season.
The new concept, never seen before in Palermo, aims to celebrate the millennial history and culture of the city of Palermo as the capital of the Mediterranean, able to aggregate different communities and cultures over the centuries, up to compose the mosaic of colours and suggestions that has always characterised the city’s DNA.
For the first time, a palette of colours inspired by the Maghreb and Middle Eastern countries appears on a Palermo jersey. These countries have left an eternal cultural heritage to Palermo and these are still represented today by hundreds of small and large multi-ethnic communities from all over the world, which are active and integrated in the life of the city. A tribute to the identity of Palermo, renowned for its cultural propensity for welcoming and integration, testified – not only by its social fabric – but also by its monuments celebrating Arab-Norman architecture as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The multicoloured execution of the jersey’s pattern that decorates the sleeves and side profiles in contrast to the Warm White base is a tribute to Palermo’s human and cultural horizons. While on the chest stands out the use of the vintage logo designed by Piero Gratton and used by Palermo from 1979 to 1986. Absolutely one of the most beloved logos ever by the Rosanero fans, with its iconic green rhombus.
The design of the jersey is enriched by the crewneck collar and the edges of the sleeves with the contrasting colourway in Eucalyptus and the slogan on the back of the collar #siamoaquile.
The kit is completed by shorts in the Eucalyptus colourway with multicoloured details that recall the jersey and socks in Astro Red.
Palermo FC’s new regular-fit away jersey combines 100% recycled polyester fabrics with PUMA’s advanced dryCELL thermoregulation technology, an improved moisture management system that ensures the perfect body temperature. Ideal for both the game and everyday wear, the jersey is made with PUMA’s innovative RE:FIBRE recycling technology and contains at least 95% recycled textile waste. The jersey is as much a fashion statement as it is an elite performance jersey.
Once again, the launch of the kit is accompanied by a new chapter of the “This is where I belong” campaign, which celebrates the passion for the rosanero colours as an ideal place in the world, where all fans can feel at home, even thousands of kilometres away from Palermo and even without being born in Palermo. After the first act in New York and the second in Manchester, with the third chapter “back home” with the story of Amina: a Tunisian girl who moves to Palermo in search of luck to follow her dreams: here, thanks to new friends and the city’s hospitality, she puts her passion for pastry-making to the test and she wins her challenge, finding a new balance, a new life and a new home. Sacrifice, determination, teamwork: universal values that, from Amina’s story, become those of those who take the field with this jersey and of anyone who – wearing it – makes these values their own.
Palermo FC’s new Third Kit is available, starting today, online at https://store.palermofc.com and in selected football retailers.
