Scholarships for 35 thousand euros intended for children in difficulty from the neighborhoods of Palermo: it is the result of the solidarity project “Vivere per Sognare” (“Live to dream”) which Palermo FC has associated this year with the 2023-2024 season ticket campaign against school dropouts, in collaboration with the Associazione Giovani 2017 3P Onlus and the charity partner of the rosanero club Maredolce Onlus.
By buing the season ticket, Palermo fans have “adopted” Palermo students in difficult social and family conditions, allowing them to continue their studies after middle school, thanks to special merit scholarships which will allow them to purchase textbooks and teaching materials and support the costs of the entire high school curriculum.
For each season ticket subscribed, Palermo donated two euros to the project. To the entire amount raised, the club then added other donations to further contribute to extending the benefits of the initiative as much as possible. Among the proceeds destined for the collection, there is also part of the fine paid by Mr. Corini for a disqualification imposed during the last sports season.
The results of the project were presented this afternoon, in the presence of the Archbishop of Palermo Corrado Lorefice, Palermo FC president Dario Mirri, the rosanero players Fabio Lucioni and Aljoša Vasic, and the journalist and representative of Maredolce Onlus Stefania Petyx, at the Parish San Paolo Apostolo of the Borgo Nuovo neighborhood, where the initiative for young students came to life thanks to the activity of Don Antonio Garau and his neighborhood community.
