Don Luigi Ciotti (Libera) and Marcel Vulpis (Lega Pro) on a visit to the site for the new structure, along Mayor Orlando and president Mirri: a calendar with initiatives targeting young people from all over Italy.
Joining forces to fight against organized crime and encouraging the development of the culture of legality and sports ethics, especially for future generations. These are the objectives of the programmatic agreement signed today between Libera, Lega Pro, and Palermo FC in the site where the new rosanero sports center in Torretta will be born, as part of the awareness initiatives for Memory and Commitment Day, in remembrance of the innocent victims of Mafia.
A visit from strong symbolic value, that of Don Ciotti and Libera, the association network which has always worked not only “against” Mafia, corruption, criminal phenomena and those who feed them, but also deeply “for”: for social justice, for the searching of truth, for the protection of rights. Especially in a town, that of Torretta, strongly conditioned by the influence of Mafia criminality to the point of being dissolved and being commissioner from the Prefecture of Palermo. Equally important, in this context, is the presence of Lega Pro which, with the intervention of its vice president Marcel Vulpis, wanted to believe in their own vision, “football which is good for the Country”, through their strong territorial relevance, combining physical activity with the development of social and educational initiatives, in order to generate valor for the youth and the land.
With the programmatic agreement signed today, after the greeting of the Mayor of the Metropolitan City of Palermo, Leoluca Orlando, the new sports center of Palermo is born under the star of legality and social justice, and with it, immediately begins a journey of enhancement for the land, through a series of concrete initiatives. Thanks to the synergy with the associative network coordinated by Libera Palermo, in fact, the sports structure will host a series of activities which intercept the paths of youth educational poverty in different neighborhoods of Palermo, combining, among others, the paths of redemption of the young people put to the test in the youth parolees: tournaments, volunteering and commitment camping open for young people from all Italy, educational meetings, and so many other initiatives of high social value, in line with the ethics code and mission of Palermo FC, which from the moment it was born has always exercised its own institutional role far beyond simple physical activity, with a strong impact in society.
The new sports center will be a constant stronghold for the fight against all types of organized crime, and a “home” which will always be open for everyone, in every way, and especially through healthy sports values, fighting for the awareness of young people towards the culture of legality.
