In the lineup, ideally trained by Guidolin, also Dybala, Pastore, Toni, Miccoli, Ilicic and other unforgotten top players: they will “come to life” in the emerging museum of Palermo
Palermo, 28 August 2020 – Three weeks to choose an ideal lineup made up of the eleven players and coach who, more than others, have left their mark in the history of Palermo. Just enough for the Rosanero fans, over 5.2 thousand, who elected their idols on the club’s official website. They chose from a selection of ever-forgotten players from all periods of the club’s history, from 1900 to the present day, in every division of the game.
In a hypothetical 3-4-3 (with no distinction as to position in the single division), the most voted players were: Sorrentino; Balzaretti, Barzagli, Grosso; Corini, Ilicic, Pastore, Zauli; Dybala, Miccoli, Toni; coach Guidolin.
In the golden selection, the most voted player with 4156 preferences is Fabrizio Miccoli, chosen by about four out of five voters. Sirigu and Sorrentino go head-to-head as goalkeepers and Francesco Guidolin and Delio Rossi on the bench. But there was also recognition for other players. Those historically linked to the fans with the longest memories, thanks to the selection by Giovanni Tarantino, journalist and historian, and scientific coordinator for the Palermo Museum. Among the most voted, in addition to the top 12, the fans have not forgotten Amauri, Cavani, Biffi, Brienza, Migliaccio, Vazquez, Zaccardo and many others, even further back in time.
Now, the 12 chosen names will “come to life” inside the new museum of Palermo Soccer, which will be inaugurated on November 1, 2020, on the 120th anniversary of the first foundation of the club. Along the exciting path of the museum, in the premises of the Renzo Barbera stadium, there will be a special celebratory area that will exalt the 12 stars of the survey opened to all fans, from 6 to 27 August on palermofc.com.
