A square, a ball, 100 girls from Palermo schools, all together to say that “Football is a girl’s game”. Palermo FC, the Lega Nazionale Dilettanti Sicilia (National Amateur League of Sicily), the Municipality of Palermo with the Sports Department and the Regional School Office take to the field to send a message of inclusion on the International Day for Women’s Rights.
The protagonists were the little students from Palermo, who enjoyed playing football-themed games and sports activities, with the coordination of coaches and managers of Palermo Women.
This morning’s event in Piazza Magione was attended by Palermo managers, the councilor for youth policies of the Municipality of Palermo Fabrizio Ferrandelli, the president of the regional FIGC Sandro Morgana and the regional coordinator of physical and sports education of the regional school office Giovanni Caramazza.
The initiative aims to break down all forms of stereotypes and prejudices and promote inclusion, through learning methods guided by professionals. Football in its most genuine form: in a public space, with a ball at your feet and moments of joy to share.
