Palermo FC coached by Eugenio Corini reached the training camp in the province of Ascoli at dawn this morning, in view of the match with the black and white team rescheduled for tomorrow at 2 pm.
Last night, after having dinner in a hotel in Cinisi, the rosanero team left the Falcone e Borsellino airport at 19.45 according to the scheduled timing with a charter flight to Pescara. Fifteen minutes after take-off, the captain had to carry out an emergency maneuver following the breaking of the front window of the aircraft, so he had to immediately return to Palermo. Subsequently, the Rosanero players moved back to the Cinisi hotel to rest while awaiting the rescheduled flight at 3.40. This new departure time was determined by the technical times that the airline had to face to make a new aircraft (coming from Bergamo after the return of a previous flight from Rome) and a new crew available, with the related repositioning operations. Palermo FC then landed in Pescara at 4.50 and reached the training camp in the province of Ascoli at 6.30. After the morning's rest and lunch, in the afternoon the team carried out an athletic session in the structure that hosts the training camp.
The postponement of the match, the result of the considerations and availability of all those involved in the organization of the event, inevitably caused some inconvenience to many Palermo fans traveling to follow their team away. For this reason, Palermo FC has decided to give away a match jersey to the 222 Rosanero fans who had purchased away tickets for the match in Ascoli by the 7pm deadline on Friday 27 January. In March, the jersey, a symbol of faith and belonging, can be picked up at the Palermo store by presenting the match ticket, or (for those who live outside Palermo) sent following a specific request via email (with the indication of personal data and size, and attached the ticket purchase document, to the address info@palermofc.com (subject: “Ascoli shirt”).
A symbolic gesture which, although unable to repair the inconvenience suffered, intends to gratify the effort of those who are always alongside the team.
