On 1st November 2024, Palermo will be 124 years old. An anniversary that consecrates the rosanero club as one of the oldest on the international football scene. To celebrate this anniversary, Palermo is organising a series of special activities for rosanero fans.
ROSANERO OPEN DAY
Also this year, on the anniversary day, the “Barbera” will open its doors to fans for a special free Open Day: an exclusive journey through the stadium’s most iconic places.
From the Palermo Museum to the areas normally closed to the public: the press room, mixed zone, dressing rooms, tunnel, benches on the sidelines and much more.
Today will start the pre-emption phase for 24-25 season ticket holders who, until 28th October, will be able to book their seats free of charge through a special section on Palermo’s website.
The second phase, open to all in the case of availability of seats, will instead be active from next 29th October.
PRESENTATION OF THE BOOK “AQUILE”
“Aquile. Il Palermo: il museo, la storia, la città”, book written by Palermo FC’s Museum Manager Giovanni Tarantino, will be presented at 4.30 p.m. at the ‘Renzo Barbera’ Tribuna Authority.
This new edition, enlarged and updated to 2023, retraces the more than 120 years of Palermo Calcio’s history through unpublished documents, photographs, jerseys, postcards and archive material kept inside the Palermo Museum.
During the presentation, moderated by Radio Time’s Massimo Pisciotta, Giovanni Tarantino will dialogue with Giulio Migliaccio between memories and anecdotes of his Palermo.
For the occasion, an unpublished trophy from Palermo FC’s pioneering phase will also be unveiled, which will become part of the Museum’s exhibition, and a temporary exposition entitled ‘Palermo 80’s Postcards’ will be inaugurated, with drawings by the English illustrator Peter O’Toole covering all the shirts of the 1980-90 decade.
Entrance is free subject to availability.
DOCUMENTARY “PALERMO SUNRISE”
Finally, to celebrate even more the special day for the rosanero club, “Palermo Sunrise”, the original documentary that traces Palermo’s recent history from the club’s rebirth in 2019 to the inauguration of the Palermo CFA last April, will be released on 1st November, with exclusive testimonies from the protagonists and unpublished images.
